No More Cellphones in Costa Rica Prisons

Costa Rica News – Do not know why this was being allowed in the first place but it seems to have come to an end….unless you pay someone on the inside.

With a vote of 50 in favor, Legislators on Thursday approved in first reading a bill to block cellular signals in prisons. The bill is a reform to the Ley General de Telecomunicaciones that required mobile operators and telecom services provides to effect the block.

Simply, the text required the telecoms to prevent telecommunications services inside prisons, juvenile penal centers, detention centers, and any other institutional care center of the national penitentiary system.

Despite cell phones being regarded as contraband within prison walls, they are smuggled in and used by prisons to communicate with the outside, including committing crimes such as extortion. For landlines, outgoing calls from telephones within the prison accessible to inmates announce the call is coming from a prison, the same cannot be applied to mobile phones.

The bill also requires the telecoms to guarantee there is no impact on the service to users in areas surrounding the prisons and detention centers.

She only promotes products and brands that she actually uses and believes in. She has created a credibility and people know she won’t promote a product she doesn’t like just for money.

Negation Is the Heart of Meditation

It’s late afternoon, and two young men are sitting in the stream just below the sycamore when I arrive on the bike at the edge of town. It’s windy. Though the sky is cloudless, it’s cool. Aren’t these guys chilly sitting in the cold creek?

The old sycamore is a half-mile from a subdivision to the east, a half-mile from an apartment complex to the west, and 100 meters down a dirt path to the creek from the paved bike path.

The previous week here I felt, and noted in my journal, that darkness has been throwing everything at me but the kitchen sink. Why? Nothing is happening in human consciousness except darkness as far as I can see.

The next time I came to the creek I found, I kid you not, a kitchen sink at the spot. All I could do is laugh, and carry the thing back up to the bike path. The maintenance people must have picked it up.

So, having encountered one thing after another here and elsewhere in recent weeks, I feel peeved at finding two young men sitting on rocks in the stream right below the tree. Rejecting the impulse to leave, I take a seat upstream without a view of the hills.

Seasonal allergies kick in and I let loose with a couple of healthy sneezes in their direction. That doesn’t stop the boys from throwing stones in my direction however.

The missiles fall short of where I sit, so I just remain with what is happening within and without, allowing the senses to open and take in everything in the immediate environment while watching my reactions.

The creek still runs full, but its flow is diminishing. Since the rains came late this year, it may run into August, by which time in past years it’s been a stream of stones baking in the Valley’s heat.

You can’t observe as long as the observer, which is the judger and chooser, is judging and choosing. The observer is the ‘me.’ Try experimenting with asking, as you sit outdoors and become present: Is the observer operating?

There is no answer to that question except to observe one’s inner reactions along with one’s sensations. Thought splits itself off from itself so automatically that awareness must grow very quick to catch it in the act of doing so. Perception and insight ends the ancient habit, at least temporarily. Negation is the essence of meditation.

With passive but intense watchfulness, the divisive entity of the ‘I’ yields to the brain simply observing and listening. Don’t make a goal of it, but give 20 minutes a day to passive watchfulness outdoors, even in just your backyard or patio, allowing the senses to attune to the sounds, sights and smells around you, while watching thoughts and emotions flow by like detritus on a stream.

Despite the stone throwing, the irritation at the young men falls away. I feel a frustration that’s been lying just below the surface, and become aware of an underlying fear. Remaining with the fear without judgment or analysis, it dissipates, and an inner weight suddenly lifts.

Just then a kite, one of the members of the falcon family, appears. Its species has a distinctive flight pattern, characterized by fluttering in place as it scans the ground. Their habitat is quickly being destroyed in the vicinity, and I haven’t seen one in months.

Kites are among the most slender and graceful of falcons, and they seem to always appear at significant moments. Though I don’t believe in signs, they always seem to signify a shift in consciousness. I would have missed the blessing if I had left, or perhaps even if I’d been sitting under the sycamore.

Though the guys are still intermittently throwing stones, it becomes part of the whole scene. About a half hour into the sitting they walk by behind me, still talking volubly, their torsos badly sunburned.

They are in their 20’s, and one carries a skateboard. We exchange greetings. I feel a pang of pity, and a little ashamed at being angry at them for being at ‘my spot.’

I move under the sycamore, and all feeling of me and mine dissolves with the setting sun.

Legends Of Lions

A roar of the lion is a symbol of courage, nobility, royalty and power.

In the spiritual and physical realms on the Earth. A lion is amongst the most feared animals in the blood love food chain. Some admire the animal for its beauty while others are threatened by its very existence. The lion has deep roots in ancient history. A lion should be portrayed with honor and love because it is a critically endangered creature. Greed, lust and the need for an ego boost have caused many people to do evil acts as they turn their heads away to the true rarity of this precious soul and lions need to be protected now days, especially.

I want to share with you some beautiful Lion legends and spiritual stories about the soul of a lion. The lion has been drawn on caves since our beginning existences. He has been a King and the lioness; a Queen of this world for a very, very long time and they deserve more than the treatment that they experience today.

Those with the Leo sign not only in your sun sign, but also moon or other planets are those with divine courage, strength and spiritual power. You have multiple astrological signs and in this sense the heart of a lion lives in a lot more of us than you think.

Legends of Lions: Bible Story
In the bible there are many stories of lions. The bible has many royal associations and therefore there is many different lion stories. You can find a lot of these stories in the Book of Kings. King Solomon has a throne with artwork of twelve lions. This is another example of the lions association with a King, and also a reason why the symbol of the lion should be held sacred.

Hercules
The Nemean Lion is a vicious lion that was killed by the legendary, Hercules. It was a monstrous lion from a land called, Nemea and that is where it got its name from. Its hide was bulletproof and it was killed with its own claws (many variations exist).

Hercules wore the fur and head of a lion for immortal protection. The hearsay is that it was either the Nemean Lion or the lion of Kithairon which is an area covered in mountains. Hercules is often depicted with this noble creature and how he battled them one on one, a fair and fierce eternal moment that is mirrored in the stars above us.

India
The national emblem of India is three lions. This symbolizes power; courage and confidence. Lions are held sacred in many places around the world. Pieces of art are commonly displayed to honor the lion spirit.

Worldwide
We can all connect through taking good care of the animals on the Earth. We can reach out to others like us, who respect the beautiful world that we are given enough to care for all the precious creatures in it.

Lioness
32,000 years ago the first cave depictions of lionesses hunting were found in a cave in France, called the Chauvet Cave. These paintings are depicted on the walls.

In Egypt, there is the sphinx which is the body of a lioness and the head and shoulders of a beautiful goddess. Royalty has always had a strong connection to these spirits.

The goddess Ishtar Is depicted driving a chariot headed by seven lions. Ishtar is the Akkadian, Assyrian, and Babylonian goddess of sex, love, war and fertility.

Inanna is depicted standing on the back of two lionesses. Inanna is the Sumerian counterpart of Ishtar. Astarte, the Greek version of this goddess, is symbolized by the lion, the horse, the sphinx, the dove and a star within a circle, indicating

Selene and Zeus
The lion was said to have been created by Selene and Zeus in Greek mythology. It somehow fell off of the moon onto the Earth and that is how it got here. This story is a powerful example of how even the greatness of the Gods and our animals exist elsewhere.

The lion is an animal held sacred by many…and those that hold this spirit sacred must protect it because there is no one else who wants to do this…but you…

Dreams…
The Lion
March 27, 2012
I dreamed that there was a lion and he lived in my bedroom in my house within a cage. One day, he escaped out of the cage that was in my room.

I tried to close the door to the bedroom on him but, he was too quick and powerful.

He ended up outside, but he kept trying to break back in the house. My housemates were small and they didn’t seem too concerned. The lion was standing up on his hind legs in my bedroom window and I noticed his ankles and paws were bloody. I thought to myself, as I looked into his eyes that must be how big a werewolf is.

He got inside the house and was kind to all except for me. I had a cup of a sugar drink on the floor and the second I set it down, ants and spiders came out from underneath the black dresser.

A girl came over that was very beautiful and I gave her my favorite shirt so that we could go out. But, then I noticed that the thread was breaking on the shirt. We went out to a bar and there was a guy waiting there for me. He had dark hair and skin.

The second that we saw each other we heard a crow caw. As, we went to an area to sit down to eat with my friend and another man, I interrupted him to tell him the story of the crow. “The crow, ” I said, ” See’s the day from the end to the beginning . The complete opposite of us. So, therefore, it has already seen something yet to occur.” We had this discussion and then I went home that night.

Tips for Planning the Perfect, Relaxing Vacation

Planning the perfect, relaxing vacation takes time and some serious thought. You want to map out all of the details, ahead of time, so that upon your arrival, all you have to do is relax and enjoy. Keep the following tips in mind when planning your ideal vacation:

  •  Choose a destination that is conducive to relaxation – If you place yourself smack dab in the middle of a busy city, you will be less likely to have a relaxing visit. Instead, choose a location like Ylang Ylang – nestled in the natural surroundings of Costa Rica, secluded and private, with a variety of relaxing activities.
  • Plan your activities accordingly – Choose activities that will keep you in a relaxed, calm state of mind. For instance, skydiving, while exciting and fun, is an adrenaline rush – you are not going to be calm and relaxed after falling from the sky. Here at the Ylang Ylang resort, you can enjoy a day at the spa or a relaxing yoga session on the beach.
  • Accommodations are part of the deal – Choose a resort that offers soothing accommodations — perfect for rest and relaxation. We offer a variety of accommodations, including luxury suites and bungalows.
