The Government is considering a number of ways that it can lower the tariffs that exporters and importers pay for moving merchandise in the megaport, the Moín Container Terminal.
One of the options being discussed between MOPT and APM Terminals is to extend the concession term. Another option is to reduce the fee for the development. Yet another is the possibility of the State building additional works or turning payments in favor of the concessionaire.
Those options are seen positively because they would not require an outlay of public resources. Other options would have a weight on public finances but allow the agreed upon conditions to stay as is.
One of these options is to develop the stages of work only as the movement of containers and arrival of ships require, rather than on a schedule, thus postponing investments. The last option under consideration is to reduce the amount the megaport transfers monthly to Japdeva for socioeconomic development of the region.
