Yokasta Valle took a very special win. The Costa Rican boxer fought hard for it but that’s not why it was so special. She dedicated the win to Eva Morera, a woman murdered by her ex-partner.
She used Eva’s name on her belt as a tribute to the 19-year-old who suffered such a tragic fate. She also used the slogan “not one more,” for her desire to see not even one more woman murdered for a courtship.
Her movements and technique combined with her attention to detail led to the win against Venezuelan Yenifer León. Valle now has a mark of 19 victories in 21 encounters, something she’s very proud of.
Yokasta received the support of every person in a full BN Arena. There were about 5,500 people cheering for her. She has truly honored the memory of Eva Morera in a unique way.
