Recope has proposed a slight change in fuel prices to take place at the end of the year. Super gas would go down ₡1 and diesel would go down ₡5 while regular would be raised by ₡1.
If the Public Services Regulatory Authority (Aresep) approves the order, the price will go from ₡634 to ₡633 per liter of super gasoline, from ₡616 to ₡617 for regular, and ₡551 to ₡546 for diesel.
In filling a 45-liter tank with super gasoline the customer will save ₡45. If it is with regular, the increase would amount to ₡45 and if it’s with diesel the discount would be ₡225.
Recope makes adjustment requests the second Friday of each month, based on variations in international prices of imported hydrocarbons. It considers the dollar exchange rate, tariff lag, and international prices of oil derivatives.
