Keylor Navas enjoyed a nice vacation to his homeland of Costa Rica accompanied by Sergio Ramos, captain of Real Madrid, and their wives. He’s now back to training and is doing so with Real Madrid.
There was plenty of talk of him moving to another team but in the end he decided to stay. There’s still time before the official cutoff but he says he is determined to stay no matter what offers come in.
The Paris Saint Germain was the team most interested in Navas. They requested Keylor but without having to pay a transfer, which Real Madrid was not willing to agree to. Keylor was not willing to leave the team without receiving the economic amount established for the remainder of his two year contract.
He traveled on Tuesday afternoon to meet Real Madrid in Canada for training. He’ll have to fight Belgian Thibaut Courtois to defend the goal. Navas, in his sixth season with the team, will now be a substitute goalkeeper.
