Costa Rica Entertainment – The Marine Area of the Children’s Museum in San José has a new feature. Drawings of marine species, such as turtles, crabs, fish and stingrays come alive in the virtual aquarium.
The attraction has been described as “magical.” Children get to have fun coloring and then scan their creation only to moments later see the very drawing they made come alive in the virtual aquarium. It will even become animated, moving with depth.
The idea behind this activity is that little ones will gain awareness and learn the importance of taking care of marine resources. There is a great need for people of all ages to generate interest in the ocean and participate in taking care of it.
Personnel from the museum are proud of this new application because we are the only country in Latin America that has it. It boasts a pleasant environment, vivid colors, a new access ramp, and playful fish. There are many resources for education and entertainment.
It’s open Tuesday through Friday from 8 am to 4:30 pm and Weekends from 9:30 am to 5 pm. Admission is ¢2,000 for children and ¢2,200 for those over 15 years old.
