Costa Rica Events – A Malpaís concert will inaugurate the amphitheater of the Children’s Museum. This famous national group will perform its best-known songs in a “symphonic” format on a new stage surrounded by beautiful nature.
The inaugural concert will be held on February 14, the Day of Love and Friendship, at 8pm. The stage will be set up “to carry out the most demanding shows” with new technical equipment for sound and lighting.
This new stage opens in February and will have capacity for 4,000 people. It’s right next to the Torres River.
The members of Malpaís are excited to play there because they have long seen the potential of the space. They also believe its important to support initiatives and efforts to recover the river and turn it into a place of recreation.
The idea to transform this 5,000 square meter area bordering the old penitentiary and the river into a new cultural space in the middle of San José came from the Costa Rican Center for Science and Culture.
Tickets are on sale at the website www.museocr.org/boleteria.
They cost between ¢10,000 and ¢15,000. There is parking available for the first 600 vehicles to enter. There will also be security for those who will walk or use public transportation to arrive.
