Costa Rica News – The Swiss airline Edelweiss is going to increase the frequency of flights to Costa Rica, according to the Executive director of the company.
This brings the amount of weekly Zürich-San José flights to three.
The high demand for the Zürich-San José service led to the additional flight, which will start in September. There has been occupancy levels of over 85% on the current direct flights.
The service is relatively new, as it started just nine months ago, with service on Tuesdays and Fridays. It has transported 37,000 passengers. The third flight will be offered on Sundays.
This is not a low cost airline as its management stresses that the vacation experience starts with the flight. Most of their clients come from Europe (80%), specifically Switzerland, Spain, Germany, Holland, Belgium and Italy, and 20% from Costa Rica.
