Costa Rica Events – Created by Julie Vigneault and Sandy Schmidt of Manuel Antonio under the name #Operation Rich Coast – this initiative will take place at 9am on 30th December 2017 on beaches all over the country.
There are already 24 beaches confirmed and expect more in the coming days.
#Operation Rich Coast is a collective of individuals within Costa Rica united through a similar vision. They are dedicated to removing litter from our beaches, promoting the reduction of plastic use and educating and engaging communities on the detrimental effects of plastic on our oceans and marine conservation. They are not tied to any organizations or political parties.
An ambassador has been appointed to each beach and on the day will be responsible for trash collection, disposal and recycling. You can contact Operation Rich Coast for further information, specific instructions to locations or names and numbers of our beach ambassadors and please do join us and promote this initiative.
