Coca Cola Moving Plant in Costa Rica

Costa Rica News – Coca-Cola has made an impactful announcement. It will be closing its plant in La Uruca in the short term in order to move all operations to a new location which will be in Liberia, Guanacaste.

The company is investing $50 million in the move of its raw material plant. The new production plant will require 130 employees. There are already 100 in La Uruca and they will be offered a transfer.

After that, the positions remaining will be filled locally.

This announcement was made at a special activity at the Real Intercontinental Hotel. The President of the Republic, Luis Guillermo Solís, and the Minister of Foreign Trade, Alexánder Mora, were in attendance.

The exports of syrups and concentrates used for the preparation of gassed beverages are constantly growing. Last year, $308.7 million of those products were sold abroad.

It is in the top nine export products of Costa Rica.
