Tourists Assaulted While Rafting in Costa Rica

Costa Rica News – 11 tourists fell victim to an assault while rafting on the Pacuare River. According to the Public Force, the delinquents were three armed individuals.

They stripped the tourists of cameras, money, phones and passports.

This happened on Saturday, at about 2:30 pm, while the group, consisting of various nationalities, was eating some fruit during a break on the banks of the river in a small beach known as Dos Montañas.

The group stopped there before continuing with the last part of the journey through Siquirres, according to the Ministry of Public Security. The group was with the companies Coast to Coast and Aventuras Naturales.

The police in Tres Equis de Turrialba are trying to find the assailants.

They must have walked at least an hour along the river bank to access the point where the robbery took place.
