Stem Cell Therapy Scam in Costa Rica

Costa Rica News – Miraculous therapies and cures with stem cells are being offered in Costa Rica. These are a sham, according to warnings from the College of Physicians and National Academy of Medicine.

This professional college does not recognize and certificates of a specialty in cell therapy, stem cells, or regenerative medicine. It has not registered a single specialist in any of these fields.

The only therapeutic application of stem cells accepted in Costa Rica and the world is bone marrow transplantation for the treatment of certain blood diseases. Any other uses are experimental and not proven safe or effective.

People are scammed because out of desperation they are often willing to try anything. One lady was offered a stem cell treatment to cure her daughter’s attention deficit disorder for a cost of $15,000.

The population can denounce these businesses before the Office of the Attorney General at 2210-2263.
