Those in the March for life ask President Carlos Alvarado not to sign the norm on therapeutic abortion, a technical rule that would regulate the way in which article 121 of the Criminal Code should be applied.
“Signing is killing,” is a slogan they used. The march began at 9 am and by 10:30 am the attendees were gathered in the Plaza de la Democracia. Some attendees explained that they believe all people have the right to live and each child is different and makes the world more unique. One said he believes every human being is welcome from the beginning of life.
The President reiterated back in March that he plans to sign the technical norm before the end of 2019. He explained that it only allows abortions by authorized doctors, with the permission of the woman, in cases where the woman’s health or life are at risk.
