“Aquí y ahora,” or “Here and now,” is a tico film all about love and goodbyes. The film stars Erina Libertad as Lara and Hernán Jiménez as Ernesto.
Ernesto is a biologist in love with nature as well as with Lara. Lara is a determined dancer who auditions for a company in Berlin. Meeting Ernesto makes her question the decision to leave Costa Rica.
Lara moves closer and closer to making the move all the while rethinking her ties to her country. The soulfull film will give viewers the feels.
The film was born two years ago as the director was finishing her film studies in France and then the American Film Institute. The director tied in feelings she herself had when leaving Costa Rica to study abroad. She remembers seeing everything in a new light and falling in love with Costa Rica.
The film is open to all over the age of 12. It will premiere on Thursday in cinemas throughout the country.
