Bear Moon

Underneath the majesty of a gorgeous escape, lives the bears of our universe, gathering in throughout the mountains of the Earth. The balance of the daylight drips down like melting butter onto the surface of the dirt, creating a golden elixir of supernatural love. While man does travel to other places simply by lyrics in a new verse of time, from a book of legends about the Gods and their works of mirth, we lay in the comfort of awakened spirits from our resting minds.

There is the strongest warriors who dwell within these stories, left for the mortals of this tragic curse. To recite, remember, release and go to find our direction in this world. The bear represents the power of nature, mystery and harvest.

As seasons fade and burst with change, angels rest in caves made of a billion years of tears and lava, building, shaping, burning, living fountains of the underworld. The afterlife is calling in a slumber so peaceful you cannot wake. An enchanted castle, a spring of healing, a silent kingdom of serenity beckon to the beauty of the resilient bear.

Popular Bear Legends

Callisto
A follower of the Artemis cult, her beauty attracted the god Jupiter’s attentions. He lusted for her so intensely that he raped her. He used his magics to appear to her as Artemis would. Eventually Hera had to turn her into a bear to save her from being hunted and she was transformed into the Ursa Major constellation (The Great Bear). The fourth Galilean moon of Jupiter is named after Callisto.

Nanook
In Inuit religion, Nanook is the master of bears, who decided if hunters deserved success or not. It is the tale of a polar bear who was so supernatural he was described as almost manlike. He walks upon two legs and has such power and stature about him he inspires the tongues of men.

These people believe that polar bears allow themselves to be killed, in order to obtain the souls of the tools (tatkoit), which they would take with them into the hereafter. This is a very spiritual feat made in order to prepare one for the journey through the afterlife. There were a lot of similar news going around.

Onikuma
According to the internet, An onikuma (鬼熊, meaning “demon bear”) is a mythological Japanese yōkai created from the Kiso Valley in Nagano Prefecture. It is strange and has been known to stand on two legs. They sneak into villages at night while everyone is dreaming. It was described in the Ehon Hyaku Monogatari, a collection of supernatural tales published in 1841.

In order to become an Onikuma a bear must live for an extremely long time, that is long enough to gain the skills and wisdom needed to accomplish such tasks as stealth, bravery and selected tasks each night by sneaking into houses and businesses in the city. They then leave back home to the mountains from where they came.

They are known to be very tough and prevailing. It is said they sometimes throw stones nine or 10 feet down into the valley at humans they see below. These stones, which 10 people together couldn’t move, are called “Onikuma stones,” a name that is still used today in the Kiso Valley.

Bear Goddess & Gods

Bear stands upon two massive muscular pillars, made of honey and stone. The light of the sun and moon crown from behind a wild throne. The sky of a billion-star fires cloaks about her shoulders like a soft and cloudy robe. Only fireflies dare to challenge the shadows of her home.

There are many goddesses who have kept sacred the spirit of the bear. Some of the following not mentioned before are; Ildiko, a Hungarian Bear Goddess, Artio, a Forgotten Celtic Bear Goddess, Mielikki, a Finnish Bear Goddess, Odin: The All-Father and Bear God and many other ancient reflections of the divine.

Bear dreams
Universally, the bear has come to bed known as a symbol of motherhood, mortality and magick. Each species of bear represents something fundamentally different worldwide. When bear comes to us while dreaming, it is said to be a sign of independence, protection and success.
