Costa Rica Women’s Soccer Team Steps Closer to the Olympics

The Costa Rica Women’s Team is one step closer to the Olympics. Tokyo 2020 is on the horizon. The Tricolor dominated its match against Nicaragua from the start and took a 2-0 win.

The first 60 minutes were uneventful thanks to goalkeeper Angela Gutierrez. Gloriana Villalobos took a powerful shot but it was defended. Then in came Priscilla Chinchilla, overcoming the goalkeeper with the first goal.

The Sele was on top and energetic. Shirley Cruz returned the ball to Saprissa, surprising the goalkeeper. Maria Paula Salas then scored an impressive goal at the 90 minute mark.

The Costa Ricans will go on to face El Salvador on Tuesday at 8pm at Morera Soto for their second Pre-Olympic. Nicaragua will also play El Salvador.
