Costa Rica has its eye on travelers from Scandinavian countries, such as Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland. People in these countries typically take six trips per year including one long trip. They have high purchasing power as well.
Costa Rica can be seen as an ideal destination for Scandanavians to escape the cold and get to know a place known for conservation, something of interest in Scandanavian culture.
Proimagen promotes the country as beautiful throughout the year, having intense biodiversity, and being home to cultural wealth, eco-friendly hotels, beautiful mountains and sunny beaches.
Futuropa will go to Sweden, Denmark and the Netherlands in November to hold special events with travel agencies. They will promote the country and point out that there are between three and nine daily flights from Scandinavia to Costa Rica.
