Costa Rica Entertainment – Beatriz Castro Acuña recounts her childhood. She grew up in a village harvesting coffee along with her female family members while her father worked in construction.
From when she was ten years old, she worked all morning and afternoon alongside her mother.
But then the whole family would gather around the TV at night. Once they watched Miss Universe. She watched as someone in the audience proudly waved a Costa Rican flag. She wished she too was there.
She aspired to be one of the models in the contest. While other teens dreamed of being old enough to go to a bar, she was dreaming of walking in high heels and a bright smile as the world watched her win a crown.
She has been in many competitions since then, including Miss Costa Rica, Miss Alajuela, Queen International of the Seas, and many others, both national and international. She aspires to represent the country in Miss Universe.
