Dozens of jobs have already been replaced, for example, we no longer see people taking payments for parking in many places. They have been replaced by technology.
The automation of work is a process the world is headed towards but it won’t come without some trouble. What will happen to our salaries and pension systems of countries?
Costa Rica might experience changes such as call center agents working in programming and monitoring robots instead of taking calls. A World Bank study estimates that in Costa Rica almost half of the jobs could be occupied by machines in the near future. Experts estimate that in the next five years, 15% of the jobs in Costa Rica could be lost.
The proportion of occupations that could become automated is higher in developing countries as more advanced countries have already done away with some of those types of jobs.
