Costa Rica’s TEDx Pura Vida Joven

Costa Rica Events – The first session of TEDx Pura Vida Joven was yesterday. Speakers inspired energy to change the world.

Those who presented made their experiences known and showed the  young audience it is possible to face difficult situations. Activists, musicians, athletes and entrepreneurs came to the stage spreading enthusiasm and creativity and inspiring the audience to go after their own projects.

Ximena Miranda is a Costa Rican biologist who specializes in insects. She used fictional stories to show what the planet would be like without the conservation of species. Adrián Pinto focused on how microorganisms can solve human health problems.

Andrés Saborío started his presentation walking on a cable 10 meters high. He showed that he can face his fear of heights by exposing himself to it. He suggested that by calming down and finding balance we can control our fears although they may not be overcome completely.

Jasmine Fallas spoke about starting Hyena, which watches over the empowerment of female artisans who are heads of households. At the age of 17 she won a recognition from Unesco.
