Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Costa Rica

A pilot realized the plane’s landing gear did not deploy so he communicated with the control tower. They had him fly over the control tower to verify the fault in the front landing gear. The flight was going from Tambor to Pavas.

Firefighters and ambulances were brought in to attend to what would be an emergency landing in the least violent way possible. Five firefighting units and five ambulances from the Red Cross were ready.

The pilot landed the plane at 2:08 pm and after impact the plane turned and stopped. Fire extinguishers sprayed the plane down with foam to cool it and all passengers and the pilot and co-pilot were able to leave the aircraft on their own.

They were examined in the hangar of the Tobias Bolanos Airport and it was found that all were stable and none required transportation to a medical facility.

The accident and incident office is looking into what happened.
