What Road Work is Expected in 2020 in Costa Rica

2020 is the year that at least a dozen road infrastructure works will receive start orders. Some of these we have waited decades for. Sure it will cause some traffic but it’s worth it for the convenience it will create when done.

Authorities ask us to stay in the know about when and where roads will be closed temporarily, making use of news sources and traffic apps to plan accordingly. Taking public transportation can help congestion. Patience is needed to avoid accidents.

In the first quarter of the new year, the three-level exchange in La Uruca, the Guadalupe viaduct, will start as will the extension of the Lindora radio station in Santa Ana.

It is believed that many projects will be finished during this administration, including works from San Ramón to Cartago, the Northern Ring Road, and three roundabouts and overpasses to eliminate traffic lights in Hatillo.

Steps will also be taken to tender works in San Pedro. There will be an overpass from near the Fuente de la Hispanidad to the cemetery as well as an underground passage for students of the Roosevelt school to get to the plaza.
