Costa Rica Concert Goes Virtual Due to Coronavirus

Jorge Drexler’s concert was to be cancelled to do measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, however, he delighted fans by offering an extensive virtual concert instead. From the theater he performed the virtual concert which thousands of fans enjoyed from home via Facebook. It lasted over an hour and is still available to view.

The Uruguayan even performed a song he wrote the same day while he was waiting to hear the fate of his concert. It’s called Codo con codo.

The show started at 8 pm yesterday. 6,000 people connected simultaneously to watch the show. People from Bolivia, Chile, Venezuela, and even Ticos in the U.S. participated.

It was a dynamic concert in that fans watching asked for the songs they wanted to hear in the comments section. Some of the requested songs were Polvo de estrellas, Me haces bien, and La vida es más compleja de lo que parece.

The concerts to be performed in person were rescheduled to August of this year. The artist would also like to vacation with his family in Costa Rica.
