Murder Investigation of American in Costa Rica leads to Narco Organization

An investigation into the murder of an American who lived in Jaco led authorities to uncover an important narco organization that operated in various parts of Limón. Authorities carried out simultaneous raids in Matina, Limón, Bajo Rodríguez de San Ramón, Puntarenas and San José.

They were looking for 25 suspects of forming an organization for drug trafficking and hired killing. 13 of the 25 suspects were arrested. The group is linked to the death of the American, two other homicides, an attempted murder, and extorting merchants.

The American man was living with a lady for many months. He helped her out financially. She and her boyfriend are suspects in his murder. It is thought that her job was to seduce him.

During the raids, the authorities confiscated cash, drugs, weapons, three vehicles, a quad bike, three boats, and a jet-sky. There was a facade of a fishing business, but inside there were no traces of this business. The alleged fisherman had ₡137 million in cash.
